Minnetonka Me to We Scholarship Winner

Me to We Scholarship Winner: Mallory Dudra!

Minnetonka and Free The Children are thrilled to announce the 2013/2014 Minnetonka Moccasin Me to We Trip Scholarship Winner, Mallory Dudra!

After reviewing many amazing applications, Mallory’s in particular stood out.  Mallory has gone out of her way to serve her community for years.  She is a dedicated Girl Scout Ambassador and is working towards achieving her Gold Award. To do this, she has volunteered her time extensively.

She told us, “I have earned my Bronze and Silver awards by working at a food shelf and teaching other girls how to find an escape from their abused lives through theater. I participate in service projects through my school and church as well. Lately, I have cleaned a park behind my school and played my clarinet at a fundraiser for animals.”

And that’s not all – Mallory has also been busy coordinating an event for a local children’s hospital as well as collecting food for Free the Children’s campaign, We Scare Hunger. She’s a 17-year-old superhero inspiring us with her commitment and passion!

It’s clear that Mallory has been a strong force in her community, and we know that she will have the same effect in a community overseas.  As the Minnetonka Moccasin Me to We Trip Scholarship winner, Mallory will have the option of traveling to a community in either Ecuador or Nicaragua. She will immerse herself in a new culture, and inspire a new generation of students by helping to build a school or school room.

She told us, “One of my favorite things to do is touch other’s lives through my words and actions. I have a huge heart and am always looking for an opportunity to serve.”

We can’t wait to see how you create change on your Me to We trip, Mallory!

Little Tree’s Winter Style Guide

Little Tree’s Winter Style Guide!  See how Maria from Little Tree styled three different Minnetonka looks perfect for any winter occasion.

When I first saw these booties in person, I knew I wanted to style them up with something flowy and chic. I really love this kimono paired with the bootie because I feel like it channels the bohemian side of me.

I love the feather accent on the booties and I think the oversized kimono is the perfect way to dress up a pair of jeans. I wore this outfit on Thanksgiving and I love how it all came together. I think it bridges comfort, and an indie chic look, that I really love.

During the busy holiday season we all need comfort right?  These Pile Lined Tramper Boots are so warm and fuzzy, which is exactly what winter is about. I spent Christmas on my feet helping my Mom cook, and running after my three nephews so these boots were the perfect pair for me.

I love bright tights for the winter, and layering is obviously great for colder weather. I wanted to stay in a dress, but I knew that wearing the tights would dress up my outfit a little bit. I like the pop of red and the fur lining of my coat, because I think this whole look screams HOLIDAY LOVE!

I wanted to layer up for the cold snowy weather, and I knew that mixing patterns and fabrics was the way to go. I love the look of high socks and tights together, and of course high boots also tie into this.

I chose the jewelry to accent the outfit because black and white can be a little boring on its own.
