Festival Hair How-To

Music festival season has officially hit! As we pack our mocs (naturally) and boho threads for a weekend at Coachella, let’s not forget our mane asset — Sporting amazing hair like we just rolled in with the band. Here’s our first “kinky and knotty” style to get those hairs concert ready!

Step 1: Unless you’re already sporting 2nd-day hair, dirty up those tresses with a bit of dry shampoo. Then add a little “kink”, rocking a flatiron back and forth along random hair strands. Need help with that flatiron? Check out my old “boho wave” tutorial here.  Otherwise sleep in a few pigtail braids overnight for next-day crimps!

Step 2: Grab a handful of bobby pins and get twisting! Twist, braid and secure those tresses at the back of the head. Remember, the messier the better!

Step 3: Don’t forget to add a few hippy braids throughout and secure the ends by rubbing in a tiny dollop of pomade! Spritz with hairspray to finish. Voila! Rocker-chic tresses!

Store Spotlight: Evergreen Crafters

Minnetonka Store Spotlight: Evergreen Crafters 28076 Highway 74 Evergreen, CO 80439

Meet owner Susan Fariss in our Q&A below and learn more about Evergreen Crafters of Evergreen, Colorado!

What’s your Minnetonka story?
Evergreen Crafters has carried Minnetonka Moccasin for 40 years.  We started as a souvenir shop, catering to a large tourist trade. While tourism continues in Evergreen, we have now developed a largely local following.

At Evergreen Crafters we offer a nice selection of clothing for both men and women, including both a men’s and women’s moccasin department. As you can see, we have a large moccasin wall for women and just recently created a men’s nook upstairs.

What is your favorite Minnetonka moccasin style?
My favorite style is the Women’s Moosehide Moc. Not only are they comfortable, but they look great with just about anything.

What is the most popular Minnetonka style in your store?
At Evergreen Crafter’s our best selling styles are the shearling slippers for both men and women.  Since we are located in a Colorado mountain town, it is always a little on the cool side, plus they are so long lasting as well.

What are a few must see destinations near your store?
There are plenty of must see’s in and around Evergreen, CO.  The biggest and most famous is Red Rocks Amphitheatre, which is just down the road from our store.

There is also Evergreen Lake, with plenty of opportunity for fishing, hiking, kayaking, canoeing and biking during the summer.  During the winter, the focus turns to skating on the local rink and skiing at the local resorts.
