On a blustery and cold (39 degree!) fall day, Kelsey, Eric and Rooney set out on a family adventure to Pilot Knob, a state park in northern Iowa. Eric and Kelsey grew up near the park and visited it when they were younger, so it was fun and nostalgic to bring their daughter Rooney there for a family adventure. Kelsey told us “One thing I love about Minnetonka moccasins is how warm they keep our feet at Pilot Knob. Even though our noses and fingers were cold, our feet were still warm!”

What’s your Minnetonka story?
I bought my first pair of Minnetonka moccasins (the Kilty in dusty brown) a couple years ago when I was 24 weeks pregnant with my daughter. We were about to get on a plane and fly to Washington, D.C., and I knew I needed comfy shoes for sightseeing! I was starting to outgrow some of my regular shoes and the moccasins were forgiving for my swollen feet.
Then, my daughter got her first pair of Minnetonka booties when she was 6 weeks old. They are extra cute on little kids’ feet! My husband joined the club earlier this year, and now everyone in our family has two pairs. We’re big fans!
What are a few of your family’s favorite autumn activities to do together?
We love to ride bikes! My daughter has a seat on the back of my bike, so we all strap on our helmets and ride to the park or a nearby restaurant. It’s a great way for us to get exercise and enjoy the gorgeous weather at the same time.
What are each of your Minnetonka must-have items for Fall?
Kelsey’s pick: The El Paso Ankle Booties are calling my name! I’m also excited to see what comes out for Spring 2014 – the sneak peek at Texas Style Council was awesome.
Rooney’s pick: Kid’s Thunderbird II mocs are just too cute! I hope she wears them in and then passes them on to her own daughter some day.
