What’s your Minnetonka story?

My parents bought me my first pair of Minnetonka slippers last Christmas and a day hasn’t passed since then that they haven’t been on my feet for at least a few minutes. They’re the first things I put on when I wake up.

If you could explain your style in one word or phrase what would it be?

Unfussy.

Whose style inspires you?

I’m inspired by confident women who can make inexpensive items look like a million bucks….and Emma Stone, who could wear a colorful garbage bag and get me to buy one.

What’s your favorite trend this season?

As a redhead, I’m happy that emerald green is the color of the year.

What song do you currently have on repeat?

Macklemore’s ‘Thrift Shop’ – it’s a guilty pleasure that makes me smile, and it’s a great song to run along with.

What’s your favorite city and why?

San Francisco, which is where I grew up, because I love its down-to-earth vibe. It’s also home to my favorite restaurants, thrift stores, and my best friend.

We’ve always adored the style of Austin based blogger Indiana Adams and were excited to find out that her husband Chris, son Jude and daughter Caroline each have a favorite pair of Minnetonka mocs.  Check out our Q&A with Indiana and see her adorable (and very stylish) family spending a weekend in their favorite Minnetonka styles!

What’s your Minnetonka story?

A Minnetonka addict since elementary school, I clearly remember wearing white Thunderbirds with everything. Now well into adulthood, I’ve since expanded my Minnetonka collection. True story: I auditioned for Twilight wearing a pair of Minnetonka boots and got two call-backs, which were the biggest auditions of my life. Every time I wear my fringe boots something lucky happens to me.

My Minnetonka love has trickled down to the rest of my family: my son got a pair ages ago and I’ve already picked out two pairs of Minnetonka mocs for my daughter.

Chris has been talking about getting a pair of moccasins for as long as I’ve known him, but because he works a corporate job, he’s not entirely sure traditional moccasins would fit in with his work culture. Luckily Minnetonka has styles (like the Chukka boot!) that give guys like Chris the best of both worlds.

If you could explain your style in one word or phrase what would it be?

multifarious/hilarious (my style is eclectic, but I always try to wear at least one item that would make a stranger smile)

Whose style inspires you?

I’m mainly inspired by nostalgia. I love things that remind me of my childhood or my grandma. I find a lot of inspiration in old yearbooks and photographs. I’m also an unashamed Pinterest addict, so I find a lot of great bloggers through that and get inspired by what others are putting together.

What song do you currently have on repeat?

I’ve been listening to “Hey Jude” pretty much constantly since Oct. 2010

What’s your favorite city and why?

Perhaps I’m a tad biased, but I think Austin, Texas is one of the best cities in the United States. It’s a city large enough to never be bored in but small enough to run into someone you know every time you go to the grocery store. Plus everyone here has a great sense of bohemian/ rocker style.

What’s your Minnetonka story?
I have never owned a pair of Minnetonka mocs before, mainly because I almost always used to opt for heels when it came to dressing up. But I’ve come to learn that chic doesn’t have to be sacrificed for comfort, and my feet love me all the more for cushioning them in some soft as heck moccasins.

If you could explain your style in one word or phrase what would it be?
Colorgasm. I love to mix and match colors and hues, the same way you’d see them in art or nature or architecture. It’s my favorite fashion element because it’s so fun and versatile.

Whose style inspires you?
The everyday diva’s. It’s too simple to look to the runway for guidance; there are beautiful people wandering the streets of the world, and I take what I see and reinvent it to suit my own style.

What’s your favorite city and why?
Definitely, without a doubt, Amsterdam. I lived there for a while and loved what an active, on-the-go city it is. People know how to be independent and this shows in their style; whether they’re in flats or heels, it’s always well structured and so full of oomph.

My Minnetonka must-have item is…
The Full Leopard Moc. I’m normally not the biggest advocate of pattern play, but what female can resist the ferocity that comes with having feet covered in feline femininity. Comfy but killer at the same time.

What’s your Minnetonka story?
I bought my first pair of Minnetonka boots about a year and a half ago. I tried them on in front of the stand up mirror at one of my favorite shops and couldn’t stop staring at them…to this day they are still my favorite pair of shoes. I now own 6 different pairs and wear them almost everyday. They are so comfortable, effortless and add a lot of interest to any outfit. You can make them bohemian with neutral colors and flowy dresses or eclectic with leather and rich colors. My closet will always be stocked with Minnetonkas.

If you could explain your style in one word or phrase what would it be?
My style is constantly evolving. I love mixing pieces from all different types of styles to create something eclectic and full of pieces that I love! Some days I feel very free-spirited and wear tons of layers and other days I like to add in touches of edge. Most importantly, I enjoy being comfortable!

Whose style inspires you?
I’m always inspired by some of my favorite bloggers; Kelli, Katie and Bonnie. I love how they mix pieces and create unique outfits. They are amazing at expressing themselves and always staying true to who they are. I’m also inspired by my style board on Pinterest. I love pinning inspiring looks and figuring out ways to make them my own.

What’s your favorite trend this season?
I’m very much a layers type of girl. Even during the hot months I love figuring out ways to add dimension to my outfits with lots of layers! I’m also a sucker for a touch of sparkle, I hardly wear any but my inner fashionista would love to rock a sequin fit and flair dress everyday.

What song do you currently have on repeat?
I can’t stop listening to Mumford & Sons new album, Babel. My husband and I love playing their music on road trips or blaring them in our home while we’re cleaning. One day when we start a family we plan on making listening through all of the Mumford & Sons songs a requirement for becoming an official Wallace.

What’s your favorite city and why?
My business partner and I got a chance to visit Chicago a year ago and we fell in love. The city was beautiful, at the time, the weather was perfect and the Chicago mix popcorn….delicious!!! I can’t wait to go back.

What’s your Minnetonka story?
I’ve been a long time admirer of the free spirited look of Minnetonka boots. The 3-layer fringe beauties have been calling my name for quite a while now and once I saw the baby boots, I knew that my lil’ lady bean and I had to have mommy and me Minnetonkas! A tradition has officially been born.

If you could explain your style in one word or phrase what would it be?
Effervescent…I have fun with my look by doing things like glamming up a boho piece with some sparkle!

Whose style inspires you?
Diane Kruger can do no wrong in my opinion. And no ones does tousled edge quite like Kate Moss. I find inspiration in everything from my favorite bloggers, to nature and even food. I’ve been known to style a look after seeing a color combo that I liked in a cupcake. Am I alone?

What’s your favorite city?
Washington D.C. is hands down my favorite city. It has everything to offer in terms of history and culture. Plus, foodies can’t go wrong there. Have I mentioned that I like to eat?
