Hello from London, where excitement (and construction) is abound for the upcoming Olympic Games, and where Carolyn and I made a quick trip to visit stores in the market including the famously fabulous shoe floor at Selfridges department store on Oxford Street.

Carolyn was bubbly getting her photo next to the largest sparkly pump we’ve ever seen (pictured), and we loved seeing Minnetonka styles prominently featured within Office’s cool shoe salon.  Our secret wish is for Princess Catherine to show up wearing a pair of our 5-Layer Fringe Boot at her next event, just like Carolyn!

My colleague, Carolyn, and I are working from the semi-annual MICAM shoe fair in Milan, Italy, where we are sharing some new Minnetonka styles with retailers for the upcoming season and meeting customers from around the world – we have seen wonderful people from over 23 countries so far.

Everything in Costa Rica is “Pura Vida”, the national expression, and greeting locals use it to describe the upbeat and full life this beautiful country has to offer.  Even the animals are lively, including the adorable squirrel monkeys visiting us each day.

For going out at night after full days of soaking in all the amazing nature, I packed one pair of heels to wear with my casual skirts and maxi dresses - Minnetonka’s new Katie Wedge Sandal in burnished tan with cork.  The back-zip ankle-wrap looks great with everything, and the 3 1/2″ wedge with 1″ platform is the perfect height to look fashionable and still be quite comfortable, making this shoe a definite staple in my summer 2012 wardrobe.

A week of perfect weather, gorgeous beaches and unbelievable environment and wildlife – I could get used to this kind of living!

As the Director of International Development for Minnetonka, I get to travel around the world talking about shoes and moccasins.  Of course, there is no more comfortable or versatile footwear choice than Minnetonka styles for traveling and dressing fashionably while on the road.

One benefit of working for a footwear company is getting to try new styles early, so here is a sneak preview of my favorite new style for Spring that I wore during my recent travels to Playa del Carmen, Mexico.  Minnetonka’s new Smooth Leather Moc in red is the perfect choice to add color to any outfit…it looks great and it’s comfortable, too.
