  1. what a lovely thing to do! I already shared my story, but I can’t help but spam instagram with pics of my moccs every so often. :) one can never have too many!

thanks for this opportunity for us to share our little love stories with minnetonka! :)

  2. I remember buying my first ever pair of Minnetonkas. I had been looking everywhere for a new pair of moccs and a friend of mine pointed me towards Minnetonka. Pause for a moment, let me state that my style is very plane Jane, solid V-necks and jeans most of the time. That is, when I’m not wearing scrubs. Anyways, I looked through all the styles for women’s moccs and found the kilty suede hard sole. I fell in love. I ordered them in the middle of summer and kept telling myself it was weird to wear moccasins in the summer. Now, I just don’t care and wear them without socks.
People have made fun of my moccs, but they will never know how comfy they are. When I ordered them, I was slightly shocked at the price, but let me tell you, that was the best $45 dollars I have spent. I have definitely gotten my money’s worth. Quality product, I will never buy moccs from anywhere else.

  3. My first pair of Minnetonka’s were given to me as a child. They were a pair of white Thunderbirds, and I wore them every other day. I was in a cowgirl/Native American phase. I went to the park in them one day, and so many people thought they were adorable. I loved it that people were complimenting my shoes!
Anyways, I loved them, and when I was 18, I started buying Minnetonka’s again. I was one of the first girls on campus to have them, and then the trend exploded. I’ll always remember those white Thunderbirds, and I might have to pick up a white pair soon.
I have had three pairs since, and I love them all. I really want a pair of boots because I think they would work well for sundresses in early fall. Minnetonka is the only brand of moccasins I have ever owned and will ever own.

  4. When I was a kid I remember indian river in upper michigan and received my first pair from my grandfather. I wore them everyday that summer and would dress up as a Indian for holloween and then i rained. They were so worn out that I put my toes threw the front. Each year I looked forward to a new pair. Great and best mocs.

  5. I stood there, staring wide eyed, in complete awe at the wood racks lined meticulously with what seemed like hundreds of pairs of glorious leather Minnetonka moccasins. I was only 4 at the time, pigtailed and freckle-faced, browsing with my mother in a tiny, family owned curio/native american art store in Prescott, AZ.
I remember being mesmerized by the thunderbird mocassins-was it the frilly fringe that caught my eye? The suede bow? Was it the gleaming white of the leather? Maybe…but the main holder of my attention was those glorious beaded birds on the toes, made with the very same seed beads that covered my favorite beaded pocket doll. I carefully selected the closest pair my short arms could reach, and I felt like Cinderella as I slipped them on. Of course they were the wrong size, but my mother was close by to help with my sizing blunder.
They fit like a dream, the fringe shook when I walked back and forth down the store aisle in them, and I distinctly remember the sales lady winking at me and saying “I remember my first pair of Thunderbirds…”
After that, the memory is a bit of a blur, but I will never forget that magical day. And to this day my closet has never been without a pair of Thunderbirds inside it (the most current pair being Royal Blue).

  6. these shoes are so cute and perfect for winter! minnetonkas are great for middle school and high school… all the girls in town would like to buy them and modle them…!
