Fall is officially here! We’re excited for cooler weather and fall styles, like cozy sweaters, thick scarves and fringe. To celebrate our favorite season we created this fun fringe bag DIY which anyone can make. It’s simple, but does take a little bit of patience. For it you’ll need a few things:
- large piece of leather - you can usually find a piece at your local fabric store
- sharp scissors
- embroidery needle and thread
Step 1. Lay out leather and fold it over three times. You can choose the size and shape you want it to be, whether big enough for a laptop or notebook like we did or small enough to fit just your necessities!
Step 2. Cut it into a straight piece if it isn’t already.
Step 3. Poke holes along the sides before stitching together, if you don’t have a leather hole punch, you can use a pair of scissors.
Step 4. Thread the embroidery needle with embroidery thread.
Step 5. Stitch along each side of the bag.
Step 6. Cut a long piece of leather for the strap, stitch one end onto either side of the bag.
Step 7. Cut the fringe, and you’re done!
