Seasonal Customer Care Specialist –

Possible Temp to Perm Position

Minnetonka Moccasin is a 70 year-old, privately held, fourth generation, family owned company that manufactures and distributes moccasins, casual footwear, sandals and leather accessories worldwide.  We are currently looking for a dedicated Customer Care Specialist to work in our headquarters located in Northeast Minneapolis, Minnesota.  There is a possibility this will become a permanent position for the right candidate! Minnetonka Moccasin offers a highly competitive salary and benefits package.

Summary:

This position is primarily responsible for providing effective customer service for all internal and external customers by utilizing in-depth knowledge of company products and programs, interacting with and assisting customers, entering customer orders into the system for fulfillment, responding to inquiries about products and services as well as resolving complaints.  This position is also responsible for performing the following duties:

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Communicates with customers via phone and email, processes orders, answers customer questions and requests.
  • Researches billing, service or quality control concerns and directs the inquiry proper departments for investigation.  Ensures proper follow-up.
  • Receives, processes and verifies the accuracy of orders from customers utilizing the organizations’ internal systems.
  • Initiates required action for response to order change requests, including the maintenance of order/customer information files and communicates changes to the appropriate personnel/departments.
  • Recommends changes to existing methods and systems to increase the accuracy, efficiency and responsiveness of the customer service department as a whole.
  • Represents the company with the highest level of integrity during every external and internal interaction.
  • Partners with Sales Representatives to address requests and resolve issues that may occur within their specific customer base.
  • Interacts effectively with the Customer Service team. Contributes to an environment of support and sharing of ideas.
  • Aims to exceed expectations and create a positive experience with each internal or external customer interaction.

ESSENTIAL SKILLS/EXPERIENCE/ABILITIES:

  • Excellent organizational, interpersonal, communication, and computer skills.
  • Excellent judgment and discretion; ability to handle multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • Friendly, courteous, professional, outgoing, and customer service oriented.
  • Ability to read and comprehend basic instructions provided in written and/or oral form and apply common sense understanding to carry out assigned task.  
  • Ability to communicate in both oral and written form with a variety of audiences.
  • Ability to establish and maintain professional atmosphere for employees and customers.
  • Detail-oriented and can work effectively in a fast paced environment while meeting all applicable deadlines.
  • Must be able to work independently and productively with minimum supervision.
  • Recognize issues, identify possible causes and resolve routine problems.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. 
  • Computer knowledge to include Spreadsheet software (Excel), Word Processing Software (Word), Electronic Mail Software (Outlook) and Internet Explorer.

BENEFICIAL SKILLS/EXPERIENCE/ABILITIES:

  • Clear and conceptual thinking ability is a plus.
  • Effective presentation skills to present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers and other employees of the organization.
  • Previous account management experience is also a plus.
  • Friendly, courteous, service-oriented, professional, outgoing, and customer service oriented.
  • Remain calm and professional in stressful situations.
  • Detail-oriented and work effectively under pressure while meeting all applicable deadlines.
  • Must be able to work independently and productively with minimum supervision.
  • Recognize problems, identify possible causes and resolve routine problems.
  • Ability to establish and maintain professional atmosphere for employees and customers.
