BEADING WITH MEANING
Redesigned by a Native American artist.

Say hello to the new Thunderbird - beautifully and meaningfully redesigned by Minneapolis-based Native American designer, mentor and educator, Lucie Skjefte. As a citizen of the Red Lake Nation, her vibrant beading design for this shoe collection pays homage to her Anishinaabe heritage and her son, Animikii - whose name translates to "Thunderbird" in Ojibwemowin.

For every pair purchased, a product lifetime royalty will be paid directly to Lucie for her original design. In honor of this collection, Minnetonka is also donating to Mni Sota Fund – an urban Native CDFI selected by Lucie that helps Native Americans in Minnesota get training and capital for home ownership and entrepreneurship.
