MINNETONKA x LUCIE SKJEFTE
Flowers that shine with love, light & positivity.
Say hello to our first ever hand-beaded slipper! Our best-selling Cally is looking more beautiful than ever with the addition of this vibrant floral beading design by Lucie Skjefte – a Minneapolis-based designer, mentor, educator, and citizen of the Red Lake Nation Anishinaabeg whose work is rooted in activism that challenges the status quo with positivity.
Lucie is driven by creating space and design with an Indigenous lens. Her design for this shoe collection features a Ziigwan Waabigwan (pronounced: Zeeg-one Waah-big-one), which translates to “Spring Flower” in Ojibwemowin, the language of the Anishinaabe people. This tulip-style flower is commonly found in woodland floral design.
As part of this latest launch and our ongoing commitment to the Native American community, Minnetonka will be donating to MIGIZI – a Native American non-profit selected by Lucie that serves Native youth. For every pair purchased, a product lifetime royalty will also be paid directly to Lucie for her original design.
